Hello! I'm Mike the owner, creator and main guy behind the scenes at Mike's
Transgendered Planet. I started this website and accompaning Yahoo! Group to help my Trans Brothers and Trans Sisters. I felt
it was time for me to move to the next level in the online and real time outreach that I do. By creating this website and
Yahoo! Group I can reach more people, help more people and rather than spending so much time re-sending and emailing
the same information and Links. I have added them all in an easy area of my Yahoo! Group for all members to access at the
click of a button (to date we have over 500 links).
Personal Information about me:
Im 37 years old female to male and I live with the love of my life, Tasha Foxx. My girl is also trans, she's a male to female, it makes our relationship that much
more special, we are truly soul mates. Thank you Tasha, your my love, my life and because of you I want to succeeed that
much more. Love you babe!! I am also freelance Graphic
Artist and continuing my education in college (both in the graphic arts field, and for the art of learning) I am thinking
of attending a four (4) year college next year and possibly studying Film. An area I never really thought of until my college
advisor, Mary suggested that I have so much to tell the world. Thanks Mary for your support and understanding.
Surgeries and Hormones: I had a double incision with nipple grafts
with Dr. Melissa Johnson in May of 2005. I Hope to have a complete Hysto by late next year (2006). I started
the male hormone, Testosterone in May of 2003.
Involvement Within My Community: I am very involved in the local and
national Transgendered Community, some of the things I do within the community are:
I created the Yahoo! group called Mike's Transgendered Planet in March
of this year (2005), a safe place for Trans people and their families. Currently featuring over 175 members from more
than 10 different countries.
I have also been recently elected the Active Duty Service Members
Liaison to the Transgendered American Veterans Association (TAVA). The Chairperson of the Massachusetts Chapter of the
TAVA and the Temp. Chairperson of the TAVA's Public Relations Committee.
I also help co-moderate, advise, advertise and offer assistance to a local
support group for Transgendered people here in Central Mass.
I am one of the newest advisors on the incredible site, The Transitional
Male. A site that offered me so much inspiration starting out years ago, its great to have the opportunity to pay it forward
now.
Besides my own Yahoo Group I also help co-moderate three (3) other Yahoo!
Groups.
I can not stress enough that Activism and Advising is not for everyone.
For me I feel its my own personal obligation to pay the great acceptance and support that I found when I was starting out,
and even now, not to mention some of the many hurdles I also faced, often alone. I feel that as a Transman I could very easily
just disappear into the woodwork of society and blend in very well. But where would that leave my fellow Trans brothers looking
for support, understanding, knowledge and friendship (and yes that also includes my Trans sisters). So here I am, doing my
part, sharing stories and experiences, constantly searching for resources and links to help someone else in their road
to finding themselves.
Remember...Transitioning is not just about altering ones body, but finding
inner peace, love and acceptance within ones self. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Mike
