These are some of the people and their websites that I have found to be inspiring and supportive.

Michael Dillon -- The World's First Transsexual Man. Michael was born on the May 1st 1915 in London. He was ordained a monk of the Tibetan order, taking the name Lobzang Jivaha, and spent his time studying Buddhism and writing.  He gave what money he had to help struggling students. The hardships of life in primitive conditions, made worse by the meagre vegetarian diet required by Buddhism, took their toll; his health failed, and he died on May 15 1962 at the age of 47.

Robert Eads -- Robert Eads, an unfailingly good-humored 52-year-old female-to-male transsexual from the back hills of Georgia. Diagnosed with ovarian cancer after having lived as a man for many years, Eads was refused treatment by more than two dozen doctors, who feared his presence in their offices would embarrass and offend other patients.

Dr. Alan Hart --  A  physician and novelist (1890-1962).  Unknown to many is that Dr. Hart was a transgendered individual, born a female and named Alberta Lucille hart in 1890. But after earning a medical degree from the University of Oregon and undergoing extensive psychiatric evaluations from one of his professors, he underwent surgery and entered the medical profession as a man. Alan Hart was a physician who led Idaho's public health crusade against tuberculosis in the 1930s and 40s.

Reed Erickson -- When Erickson began the Erickson Educational Foundation (EEF), transsexualism was little known to either professionals or the public. The present wide-spread recognition of transsexualism as a human condition can be partially attributed to the activities of the Erickson Educational Foundation.

Louis G. Sullivan -- Louis was a gay-identified FTM, author, activist, public speaker and prolific letter writer. He founded the FTM support group in San Francisco that later became FTM International, and designated James Green as his successor. Lou worked until his death in March, 1991, to promote greater understanding of female-to-male issues, options, and potentials. Lou died of complications of HIV at the age of 39.

Christine Jorgensen -- A Medical Pioneer and a Social Reform Figure. She was a transsexual who made history in 1950, as the first American man to be surgically changed to a woman.

Nick -- Nicks Site entitled The Transitional Male was truly inspiring to me when I started out on my journey, it is still a great resource and helpful site. The Transitional Male is A Comprehensive  Educational Support Based Website for Transmen, Significant Others, Family & Friends. Gender Questioning/ TG Butch Welcome.

Bryce -- Bryce's is a gifted artist, his goal as an artist, "is to share my art with the world. Some say that by selling my art online I have sold out and I am only in it for the money. Each item is printed the when you order, there is no mass production. This raise the cost of making each item. If you are looking for mass production items at a lower cost you are shopping at the wrong place. But if your goal is to own a piece of art, that is not mass produced then you have come to the right place."

Jamison Green  -- Jamison "James" Green is an internationally respected leader within the Transgender movement. A dynamic speaker and compelling writer, James has appeared in eight documentary films, and received every major award given by the largest national transgender organizations. He is an acknowledged inspiration for thousands of people, transsexual and non-transsexual alike.

Jenny Finney Boylan -- Ms Boylan is a novelist, screenwriter, memoirist, and teacher. She is Professor of English at Colby College, where she has taught writing and American literature since 1988. Best known as the author of the novels The Planets (Simon and Schuster, 1991) and Getting In (Time/Warner, 1998), her fiction was described by Edward Albee as "observed carefully and with love, and her levitating wit is wisely tethered to a humane concern."

Calpernia Addams  -- Calpernia is an  actress, author and artist. She is the a beautiful Transsexual woman and her personal story can be seen in the movie, Soldier's Girl.

Leslie Feinberg -- Feinberg is an activist, speaker, and author of great influence on the transgender movement. Leslie has stated that in hir written work is often an attempt to answer hir own questions about why some people feel that they need to punish those who are different.

Loren Cameron --  Loren's is a photographer that has been reviewed in Camerawork and Artweek magazines, and his photos have appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers. Using images and text, Loren works to empower himself and his subjects by giving voice to affirm our experiences, both our unique experience as transsexuals and our common experience as human beings. "I desire to capture the essence of the strength and courage it takes for us, through an act of will, to reconstruct ourselves to become our real identities," Loren says.

Stephen Whittle -- Lecturer at the School or Law at Manchester Metropolitan University, Co-ordinator of the UK FTM Network, and Vice-President of Press for Change. He is also the newly elected President of Harry Benjamin Association(HBIGDA).
